Punjab Police Constable Jobs 2026 — 1,170 Posts in Rahim Yar Khan & Rajanpur (BPS-07)
Punjab Police Department, Government of Punjab — Rahim Yar Khan & Rajanpur
The Punjab Police has announced a large recruitment of Constables, Lady Constables and Driver Constables (BPS-07) for two South Punjab districts — Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur. In total 1,170 posts are open: 718 constable posts in Rahim Yar Khan, 300 in Rajanpur (including its tribal areas), 150 in Tehsil Rojhan, and one Driver Constable post in each of the two districts.
This recruitment is only for domicile holders of Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur — candidates from other districts cannot apply. The quota distribution follows the government pattern: 15% of constable posts for women, 10% for ex-servicemen and 5% for minorities.
Applications are made on the prescribed form, available on the Punjab Police website. Forms are being accepted from 12 to 31 October 2026 at the Police Lines of the candidate's own district. Because physical standards (height, chest and running) are part of this recruitment, read the standards below carefully before applying.
Candidates who meet the education, age and physical standards of their own district and area should submit their forms within the announced dates — this is one of the largest police recruitments of the year for these two districts, and forms received after 31 October 2026 will not be entertained.

About Punjab Police Department, Government of Punjab
The Punjab Police is the provincial police force of Punjab, responsible for maintaining law and order, preventing and detecting crime, regulating traffic and protecting life and property in every district of the province. It works under the Government of Punjab and is headed by the Inspector General of Police, while each district's force is commanded by its District Police Officer. The Central Police Office in Lahore issues province-level directions and advertisements such as this recruitment, which carries the advertisement reference IPL-10492.
The constable is the basic and most numerous rank of the force, appointed in BPS-07. Constables staff the police stations, patrol streets and roads, man check posts, guard sensitive places, assist investigating officers and deal directly with the public that visits a police station every day. Because district police work is local, constable recruitment is carried out district by district and is restricted to the domicile holders of that district — which is why this advertisement is open only to the candidates of Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur, including their de-excluded (tribal) areas and Tehsil Rojhan, with standards adjusted for those areas as printed in the advertisement.
Vacant Positions — Post-Wise Details
The 1,170 posts are divided between the two districts and three kinds of constable positions. Most seats are for Constable and Lady Constable in Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur, with a separate share for Tehsil Rojhan, plus one Driver Constable post in each district. The post-wise detail is given below.
| Sr. | Post Name | Posts | Qualification | BPS / Grade | Age Limit |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Constable | 718 in Rahim Yar Khan, 300 in Rajanpur, 150 in Tehsil Rojhan | Matric with at least 50% marks for settled areas; second division / pass for de-excluded areas as prescribed in the advertisement | BPS-07 | 18–22 years (settled areas); 18–25 years (de-excluded areas); up to 30 years for the Tehsil Rojhan de-excluded area |
| 2 | Lady Constable | Included in the district totals, against the 15% women's quota | Matric with at least 50% marks for settled areas; second division / pass for de-excluded areas as prescribed in the advertisement | BPS-07 | 18–22 years (settled areas); 18–25 years (de-excluded areas); up to 30 years for the Tehsil Rojhan de-excluded area |
| 3 | Driver Constable | 2 — one in Rahim Yar Khan and one in Rajanpur | As prescribed in the advertisement, with a valid driving licence and the required driving experience | BPS-07 | 21–30 years |
- Constable: Constables are the frontline rank of the district police: they patrol their area, staff police stations and check posts, maintain law and order, assist in investigations and help the public that visits the police station every day.
- Lady Constable: Lady constables perform police duties with a special responsibility towards women and children: staffing women desks at police stations, searching female suspects, and assisting female complainants and victims who come to the police.
- Driver Constable: Driver constables drive official police vehicles, keep them roadworthy and properly logged, and support patrolling and operational duties by transporting staff safely wherever the district police requires vehicle support.
Eligibility Criteria — Who Can Apply
- Domicile of District Rahim Yar Khan or District Rajanpur only (your own district)
- Education: Matriculation with at least 50% marks for settled areas; for tribal / de-excluded areas the advertisement prescribes second division / pass as applicable — read the ad for your area
- Age (calculated on 31 October 2026): Constable settled areas 18–22 years; de-excluded areas 18–25 years (up to 30 years for Tehsil Rojhan de-excluded area); Driver Constable 21–30 years
- Height: male minimum 5 ft 7 in (settled) / 5 ft 5 in (de-excluded); female minimum 5 ft 2 in (5 ft 1 in for Rojhan)
- Chest (male only): 33 × 34.5 in (settled) / 31 × 32.5 in (de-excluded)
- Running test: 1.6 km in 7 minutes (male) / 10 minutes (female)
- Driver Constable: valid driving licence and the driving experience required in the advertisement
- Quota: women 15%, ex-servicemen 10%, minorities 5% of constable posts
This recruitment is strictly district-based. Only the domicile holders of Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur can apply, and each candidate applies in his or her own district — a domicile holder of any other district is simply not eligible, whatever his marks or fitness. Age is calculated on 31 October 2026, the closing date, and the limits differ by area: 18 to 22 years for the settled areas, 18 to 25 years for the de-excluded (tribal) areas, and up to 30 years for the de-excluded area of Tehsil Rojhan. For Driver Constable the age limit is 21 to 30 years. Because the advertisement itself fixes different limits for each area, candidates should go by the limit printed for their own area and should not assume that any general age relaxation will be added to it.
For education, settled-area candidates need Matriculation with at least 50% marks, while for the tribal and de-excluded areas the advertisement prescribes second division / pass as applicable. The physical standards are the heart of this recruitment and are also area-wise: for settled areas a male candidate must be at least 5 feet 7 inches tall with a chest of 33 by 34.5 inches, and a female candidate at least 5 feet 2 inches; lower standards (male height 5 feet 5 inches, chest 31 by 32.5 inches, female height 5 feet 1 inch for Rojhan) apply in the de-excluded areas. Chest is measured in the normal and expanded positions, which is what the two figures mean. The running test is 1.6 kilometres in 7 minutes for men and 10 minutes for women — as general preparation guidance, build up running practice in the weeks before the test, because measurement and running are qualifying stages: a candidate who fails them does not proceed, whatever his marks. The quota distribution of constable posts follows the government pattern: 15% for women, 10% for ex-servicemen and 5% for minorities.
Salary & Benefits
The advertisement does not print a salary figure for these posts, and no amount is therefore shown on this page. What is fixed is the grade: constables and lady constables are appointed in BPS-07 of the Punjab government pay scales, and a Driver Constable is also in BPS-07. A BPS-07 employee's monthly pay is built from the basic pay of the scale in force at the time of appointment, together with the allowances admissible to Punjab government employees and police personnel under the rules and revisions in force at that time.
Because basic pay and allowances are revised by the government from time to time, the exact monthly amount a new constable receives is the one calculated by the district accounts office at joining — candidates should not trust any fixed rupee figure quoted by unofficial websites or agents for this recruitment.
Selection Process
The process starts at the Police Lines of the candidate's own district, where prescribed forms are received from 12 to 31 October 2026 along with the Rs. 300 form fee. Forms are scrutinised, and candidates who meet the domicile, education and age conditions are called for the physical stage: measurement of height and chest, and the running test of 1.6 kilometres within the fixed time, on the date announced by the district police. Only candidates who qualify in measurement and running move forward to the further stages announced by the district police, leading to the final merit and selection for training.
As general preparation guidance: keep your original CNIC, domicile and Matric certificate ready for the physical test day, reach the ground early, and prepare for the run in advance — the time limits, 7 minutes for men and 10 minutes for women, are strictly applied.
