How to Write a CV for Government Jobs in Pakistan
A government-job CV is not a private-sector resume. It must match your documents exactly, follow the prescribed order, and give the scrutiny officer everything needed to verify your eligibility in two minutes.

Many candidates prepare one stylish resume and send it everywhere. For government jobs that approach fails, because a government CV is checked against your documents line by line during scrutiny. Its job is not to impress with design — it is to prove, clearly and in the right order, that you meet the eligibility criteria of the post.
What a government CV must contain
- Personal information: full name (exactly as on your CNIC), father's name, CNIC number, date of birth, domicile district and province, postal address, mobile number and email
- Education table: every qualification from Matric upwards — board/university, year of passing, division or CGPA, and marks obtained out of total marks
- Experience: employer, post held, from–to dates, and whether the organisation was government, semi-government or private — supported by experience certificates
- Computer and professional skills: only what you can actually demonstrate (typing speed, MS Office, diplomas)
- References: two persons with phone numbers, if the advertisement asks for them
The rules that matter
Match your documents exactly. If your Matric certificate says "Muhammad" do not write "Mohammad" in the CV. If your degree shows 3.42 CGPA, do not round it. Any difference creates a question mark at scrutiny.
Follow the advertisement's order. If the ad asks for a specific application format or biodata form, use it instead of your own layout — commissions often prescribe one, and applications in the wrong format can be set aside.
Declare your quota honestly. If you are claiming a quota (women, minority, disabled, employee's son/daughter, ex-serviceman), write it clearly and attach the supporting certificate. A quota claimed without its certificate is treated as not claimed — or worse, as a false claim.
Keep it to two or three pages. One page is too little for a full education and experience record; more than three is unnecessary for most posts. Use a plain layout, one readable font, and no photographs unless the form asks for one (photographs are usually attached separately where required).
Before you send
Read the CV once against every document you are attaching. Check that dates of employment do not overlap impossibly, that percentages match the transcripts, and that your mobile number is the one you actually answer. Most interview calls in Pakistan are made by phone and SMS — a wrong number has ended more candidatures than a hard interview ever did.

Apna sawal ya raye likhein — sab visitors ko show hoga aur hamesha rahega. Please be respectful; apna phone number, CV ya personal documents yahan na likhein. Apply sirf official portal se hota hai, jo upar link hai.
