About Child Protection & Welfare Bureau, Government of Punjab

The Child Protection & Welfare Bureau (CPWB) is a Government of Punjab organisation working under the Home Department. Its job is the protection, care and rehabilitation of vulnerable children — children who are destitute, neglected, runaway, lost or otherwise in need of state care. The Bureau receives such children, provides them shelter, food, education, medical care and supervision in its child protection institutions, and works to reunite them with their families wherever that is safe and possible, or to arrange their longer-term welfare and rehabilitation. Its institutions operate across Punjab, and its field teams and child protection units work at district level.

Most of the Bureau's work is hands-on care rather than office work: attendants look after children day and night, nurses and dispensers look after their health, teachers look after their religious and moral education, and support staff keep the institutions running. That is why this recruitment of 120 staff, conducted through the National Testing Service (NTS), is dominated by Child Attendant posts. For candidates who want public-sector work with a direct welfare purpose — protecting children who have no one else — these posts offer exactly that, on a contract basis with a lump-sum pay package.

Vacant Positions — Post-Wise Details

The 120 posts are spread over six categories, and the overwhelming majority are Child Attendants who work directly with the children in the Bureau's institutions. The table below gives each post with its number of vacancies, education, age band and a short explanation of the work involved.

Sr.Post NamePostsQualificationBPS / GradeAge Limit
1Child Attendant (Female)85SSC (second division) plus 2 years' experience in child care, supervision or rehabilitation in a government, autonomous or government-registered private organisation25–32 years (up to 37 with relaxation)
2Child Attendant (Male)26SSC (second division) plus 2 years' experience in child care, supervision or rehabilitation in a government, autonomous or government-registered private organisation25–32 years (up to 37 with relaxation)
3Nurse (Female)33-year Nursing Diploma plus 1-year Midwifery Diploma, registered with the Pakistan Nursing Council22–28 years (up to 33 with relaxation)
4Accountant4B.Com (second division) from an HEC-recognised university plus 2 years' relevant public-sector experience21–28 years (up to 33 with relaxation)
5Religious Teacher (Male)1HSSC (second division) plus Hifz-e-Quran certificate plus 2 years' experience in a government-recognised school20–28 years (up to 33 with relaxation)
6Dispenser (Female)1SSC (second division) plus Dispenser Diploma from the Punjab Medical Faculty plus 1 year of experience18–25 years (up to 30 with relaxation)

Eligibility Criteria — Who Can Apply

The first requirement is domicile: this is a Punjab recruitment, and candidates holding a domicile of any district of Punjab can apply. The second is that education and experience are read together for almost every post. For the largest group, Child Attendant, SSC in second division alone is not enough — the advertisement also requires two years of experience in child care, supervision or rehabilitation, and that experience must come from a government organisation, an autonomous body, or a private organisation registered with the government. Experience in an unregistered private setup may not be accepted at scrutiny, so check your experience certificate carefully. For the Nurse post, registration with the Pakistan Nursing Council is part of the qualification itself, alongside the three-year Nursing Diploma and one-year Midwifery Diploma. The Accountant needs B.Com in second division from an HEC-recognised university plus two years of relevant public-sector experience; the Religious Teacher combines HSSC with a Hifz-e-Quran certificate and teaching experience in a recognised school; the Dispenser needs the Punjab Medical Faculty diploma plus one year of experience.

Age bands differ by post, and the advertisement prints two numbers for each: the base band and a higher limit with relaxation. This follows the general Punjab government pattern, under which a general age relaxation is added to the prescribed band — the advertisement's own figures (for example 25–32 becoming up to 37 for Child Attendant) already show the relaxed ceiling, so use the higher figure printed against your post as your limit, calculated on the basis given in the advertisement. As general rules of Punjab recruitment, degrees must be from recognised boards and universities, experience must be supported by proper certificates, and government employees must apply through the proper channel. Only candidates who exactly meet the printed qualification, experience and age for a post should apply for it — NTS screens applications against these conditions before the test.

Salary & Benefits

The appointment is on a lump-sum pay package, as stated in the advertisement; no per-post rupee figure is printed in the material available, and no BPS scale applies to these posts. A lump-sum package, explained in general terms, is a single fixed monthly amount agreed for the contract: instead of a Basic Pay Scale salary built from basic pay, annual increments and separate allowances, the employee receives one consolidated sum each month for the contract period. These appointments are for an initial period of one year and are extendable on the basis of available funds and the employee's performance, so the package continues for as long as the contract is extended. Because the exact amount for each post is set by the Bureau under the approved package and is not published in the advertisement summary, treat any specific salary figure circulating on social media or unofficial websites as unverified, and confirm the package from the Bureau or NTS if you are shortlisted.

Selection Process

Selection runs through the National Testing Service. After applications are received and screened, eligible candidates download their roll number slips from the NTS website and appear in the NTS screening test for their post. Results and merit are compiled by NTS, and candidates who qualify on merit are taken forward by the Bureau for the next stage, normally an interview and document verification, before final selection. The exact test date and centre are announced by NTS through the roll number slip and its website.

Preparation guidance: revise the subjects of your qualifying education — for Child Attendant, general knowledge, Urdu, English, mathematics and everyday child-care awareness carry weight; for technical posts such as Nurse, Accountant and Dispenser, revise your diploma or degree subjects thoroughly. Keep checking nts.org.pk after applying: missing the roll number slip announcement is a common and avoidable reason for losing the chance. Keep your original deposit slip and documents safe, because they are checked again at the interview stage.

Documents Required

How to Apply — Step by Step

  1. Go to the NTS website (nts.org.pk) and open the Child Protection & Welfare Bureau project (Ad Code 2610201) to find your post
  2. Fill the online application form for your post carefully — your name, CNIC and date of birth must match your documents exactly
  3. Pay the test fee of Rs. 550 + Rs. 10 service charges per post through 1Link 1Bill (bank, ATM, mobile banking, EasyPaisa or JazzCash) and keep the original paid deposit slip
  4. Print the filled form and post it with 2 passport-size photographs, CNIC copy, attested educational and experience certificates and the original paid deposit slip to: NTS, Office 201, FF Block, CCA, Phase IV, DHA, Lahore
  5. Your application must reach NTS before 31 October 2026 — incomplete applications and those received after the closing date are not entertained
  6. Download your roll number slip from the NTS website before the test date and appear in the test at the centre printed on it

The deadline is a receiving deadline, not a posting deadline: your printed form, documents and original deposit slip must physically reach the NTS Lahore office before 31 October 2026, so post the packet several days early. The fee — Rs. 550 plus Rs. 10 service charges — is charged per post, so applying for two posts means two fees and two forms. Never pay any person who promises selection; recruitment is through the NTS test and merit only, and the original deposit slip must be kept safe until the process ends.

Terms & Conditions

As stated in the advertisement and standard for such contract recruitment, appointments are made on a lump-sum pay package for an initial period of one year, extendable on the basis of funds and performance; the appointment does not by itself create a right to permanent absorption. The Bureau and NTS reserve the right to accept or reject any application and to cancel or change the recruitment process or the number of posts without assigning a reason. Incomplete applications and applications received after the closing date are not entertained, and information found incorrect at any stage can lead to cancellation of candidature or appointment. Prescribed quotas under the Government of Punjab policy are observed in the recruitment. Government employees should apply through the proper channel. No TA/DA is admissible for the test or interview unless announced otherwise by NTS or the Bureau.

⚠️ Fraud warning: Government departments and genuine employers never ask candidates to pay money for a job offer, test or interview. The only official fee, where applicable, is the printed application/test fee paid through the official challan or portal mentioned in the advertisement. Never pay any person who promises you a job.
